Our Cattle

Acres Away Angus intentionally breeds high-quality functional Angus cattle that are easy fleshing, moderate framed and meet the needs of all breeders in the Southeast. Our cattle excel in performance, carcass traits, phenotype, and udder structure.

Thomas Big Data 7435

This son of the now-deceased Weigh Up brings the ability to add pounds with outstanding feed efficiency. This unique bull sold half interest for $100,000 in the 2018 Thomas California Bull Sale and was the best bull for measured feed efficiency in the inaugural bull test at the Thomas Angus Ranch new Feed Efficiency Testing Facility where he gained 5.06 pounds per day with an adjusted feed to gain of 3.29 pounds of dry matter per pound of gain. Acres Away currently holds interest in the bull and has semen available.

Herbster United 405

Herbster United 405 was our pick of the bulls at the 2015 Herbster Angus Bull Sale. This is the first son out of the $110,000 2013 Foundation Heifer. This bull is deep, soft and his calves have exceeded our expectations in every measure. His mother “Cherry of Conanga 2475” just recently reached pathfinder status. His semen is for sale at $20 per straw and will be collected at 40 million count per straw.

Acres Away Emblynette 152

This Pioneer daughter that goes back to SAV Emblynette 7319 is by far the best thing we have ever raised at Acres Away. She reached pathfinder status in 2017 and then again in 2018. She is the kind of cow that checks all the boxes with her phenotype, disposition, udder, fertility and mothering ability.
